

Mark Banasiak, a member of the NSW Legislative Council since 2019, is a passionate advocate for recreational hunters, fishers, and outdoor enthusiasts. A dedicated champion of public land access, Mark works tirelessly to protect and promote the rights of law-abiding shooters, fishers, and farmers across NSW.

With over 15 years of experience in community leadership, Mark chairs the Federation of Hunting Clubs, where he has driven remarkable growth, increasing member clubs from 36 to 52 under his guidance. His parliamentary achievements include leading critical inquiries as Chair of Portfolio Committee No. 4, delivering a groundbreaking report on the future of the Timber Industry in 2022, and securing a government commitment to an external audit of Recreational Fishing Trust expenditure.

As Deputy Chair of Portfolio Committee No. 6, Mark has focused on addressing the poor state of boating facilities statewide, prompting a review of the Boating Now grants program. He’s also been instrumental in holding the government accountable, securing an additional $600 million in compensation for the Point to Point (P2P) industry.
